Galactic

Galactic is a funk and jam band from New Orleans, Louisiana, formed in 1994 and long regarded as a cornerstone of the city's modern music scene. Anchored by bassist Robert Mercurio, guitarist Jeff Raines, drummer Stanton Moore, keyboardist Rich Vogel, and saxophonist Ben Ellman, the group blends New Orleans funk, brass, jazz, hip-hop, and electronic textures with a rotating cast of guest vocalists. They took stewardship of the historic New Orleans venue Tipitina's in 2018 and launched the all-vinyl Tipitina's Record Club in 2021. Their 2025 album Audience with the Queen is a full collaboration with New Orleans R&B legend Irma Thomas.
