Face Urchins

Face Urchins is a home-made, 100% original California rock act that has been writing and performing since 1992. Songwriter Don Porcella writes on acoustic guitar and vocals, then hands the songs to multi-instrumentalist Dave Wave, who builds the band's layered, genre-blurring sound on keyboards, percussion, harmonica and electronics. With more than a dozen self-released albums, their material moves between folk, rock n' roll and psychedelic textures, and the group has performed across the United States as well as in Canada and China, including Humboldt County appearances at KMUD's block party and the North Country Fair. The band's core members are based in California, with Dave Wave hosting a show on KMUD radio in Humboldt County.
