David Nelson Band

The David Nelson Band has been recording and performing around the country since 1994. Led by New Riders of the Purple Sage co-founder David Nelson — Jerry Garcia's musical partner since 1962 in The Wildwood Boys — the band spans Almost Acoustic, roots rock 'n' roll and psychedelic country-rock, featuring many Robert Hunter/David Nelson originals alongside Grateful Dead classics. Their sound is collaborative and improvisational, with selective touring as members also perform with Phil Lesh & Friends, Wolf Brothers, Moonalice and other major acts.
