Darryl Cherney

Darryl Cherney is a topical singer-songwriter and environmental activist based in the redwood hills of Humboldt County, California. He co-founded the Headwaters Forest Campaign with Greg King in 1986 and was a leading organizer of the 1990 Redwood Summer campaign alongside Judi Bari. Cherney has released multiple albums of humorous, sharply political songs and founded Environmentally Sound Promotions under the motto "Music, Arts and Media for the Earth." He performs both solo and with his backing band, the Chernobles, and has long hosted environmental and political music programming on KMUD community radio.
