Cowtown Sound

Hailing from Humboldt County, The Cowtown Sound is a five-piece band led by singer/songwriter/drummer Daniel Nickerson that plays homebrew movement music they call "ska-boogie." Rehearsing in a garage in the Arcata Bottoms and recording in a yurt on a farm by the Eel River, the group features unusual instrumentation including cello and singing saw. Their sound blends hippie-punk honky-tonk, unexpected ska and rural rock & roll for the country commute, and live shows feature earthy puppet characters.
