B Swizlo

B. Swizlo is the performance alias of Brian Swislow, a keyboardist, producer and bandleader who has been a central figure in Humboldt County's funk, soul and hip hop scenes for more than two decades. A drummer-turned-keyboardist, he built a reputation for explosive, improvisational playing with Nucleus, Subliminal Sabotage, the Humboldt County Freestyle Kings, Garth Vader and the Hip Hop Lounge, and released the solo album Future Hits of That Humboldt $#!? in 2007. He co-founded and plays keys in the hard-hitting Arcata soul band Object Heavy, and leads B. Swizlo's Mystery Lounge, a recurring revue that pairs a live jazz-funk band with rotating Humboldt MCs.
