Alchemy of Rhythm

Alchemy of Rhythm is a Humboldt County drum ensemble that weaves together West African Ewe rhythms, North Indian tabla patterns, Balinese gamelan, and marching percussion into intricate, groove-driven instrumental pieces. The group's music is composed by percussionist Colby Beers, a longtime tabla student whose training at the California Institute of the Arts spans Ghanaian, Indian, and Indonesian traditions. The ensemble performs throughout the Arcata and Eureka area, appearing at community gatherings such as the North Country Fair and Sunny Brae Porch Fest.
